The band signed to major label Atlantic before their 1993 album, For Your Own Special Sweetheart, after a long stint on the DC label Dischord. For the Atlantic followup, the label shifted them to a newly founded alternative imprint, TAG Records. Despite the album's success, they were dropped by TAG and broke up shortly after its release, making the album their last.
