Antonio Canovas del Castillo de Rey (1908 1984), along with Balmain, Balenciaga and Dior, was considered one of the up and coming designers in post war Paris. He designed for Paquin, Piguet and Dior, and, in 1950, became the principle designer for the fashion house of Lanvin. Castillo remained at Lanvin until 1963 at which time he opened
