The lineup fluctuated slightly in the early years but once bassist James McNew joined guitarist Ira Kaplan and drummer Georgia Hubley in 1992 they have remained a consistent unit

They would break up only a few years later in 1986 after a few more albums and being taken to trial for obscenity
