Topping the petiole (stalk) is a greenish purple pitcher with a top that arches over the pitcher. The spadix (club) of Arisaema thunbergii ssp. thunbergii emerges from inside the pitcher as an 18" long rubberized, twisted thread that dangles in front of the pitcher very bizarre.
